Everyone wants to feel better, look better, and feed their families better. I believe these answers we seek in regard to our health and well-being can be found in nature. 


My love for nature and plants came from growing up in Houston, Texas with parents who have a passion for gardening. However, my Standard American Diet and high blood pressure quickly became an issue when I was pregnant with my only child seventeen years ago. Fortunately, a health-focused midwife helped to make the “food is medicine” connection. After experiencing first hand how food affects our body, mind and soul, I was inspired to learn more about the connection of health and food. After experimenting and researching different healing diets and lifestyles, vegetarianism was the logical choice, given my life long passion for animals.


After being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 30, I realized how short life was and made a commitment to take better care of myself, primarily through a plant heavy vegetarian diet. After reading and researching a number of books and papers on holistic health, I wanted to make sure I was reading all the right information so I earned  a  Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition in 2009. Not long after, I switched to a vegan diet. 

Holistic health had been a hobby and an interest of mine for quite some time so it seemed natural that attending a plant-based culinary school was the next step. After graduating from The Natural Epicurean as a Professional Plant-Based Healing Cuisine Chef in 2015, I am now a Raw and Living Foods Chef at a holistic healing center in Austin, TX. My love of nature and holistic health helped me to create my personal chef business where I thrive on teaching others to achieve health and happiness one plate at a time.
